What the club was up against

When head coach, Gary Barnes, joined Wolverhampton Swim Club, he found a club with loads of pride and a record of success. But despite the great results in the pool, the club was swimming in piles of disorganized stacks of paperwork. “When I joined, I was surprised at the state of data keeping,” Barnes notes. Crucial data was scattered between a multitude of spreadsheets and actual paper files were constantly being misplaced. “To say Wolverhampton Swimming Club was a little behind the times is an understatement,” Barnes laughs.

What TeamUnify did to help

Wolverhampton Swim Club started partnering with TeamUnify at just the right time. The club capitalised on the COVID-break from in-person swim and registered the majority of their swimmers—giving them an almost 90% adoption rate. 

Now Wolverhampton SC utilises TeamUnify’s OnDeck mobile app to closely monitor attendance poolside. “We have very limited hours, so closely monitoring is very useful to see who is making full use of available hours at the pool,” Barnes says. “That helps us plan practices and see where future needs are.” 

Now Wolverhampton SC has all the information they need, in one centralised location. “All of our information is now current and up to date and we are no longer shuffling through hundreds of papers,” Barnes says. “That saves everyone from coaches and administrators to parents and swimmers a ton of time.”

The club is also improving its member communications with TeamUnify. Before the coaches and administrators were struggling with multiple communication tools and platforms. “But TeamUnify gives us a single platform for everyone,” says Barnes. “Now we have a permanent record of what is being sent, received, and read.”
