Spring has sprung! Athletes finally getting the chance to get moving outside again.

There is an extra special energy in the air that is reminiscent of new beginnings. For some, the spring is the start of their athletic season. For others, the spring is the start of the “off” season. Many things in common though: fresh grass, new opportunities, and chances to prove yourself. Kicking off anything new is both nerve wracking and exciting.

At Strong Girls United, we aim to create a safe space where every day can mimic that kickoff feeling. New opportunities and moments are around us all the time, so how do we stay ready for them?

Affirmations

The only way for others to believe in you is if you believe in yourself. At SGU we use “I am” statements to teach girls that they are in control of their identity and the way they show up in every space.

Habit Stacking

Practicing habit stacking allows us to easily add new practices to ones that are preexisting, giving us a much higher chance of successfully adding a new one. For example, every day you brush your teeth, that is a habit. When you want to start practicing positive affirmations, an awesome opportunity to add it would be to do it while brushing your teeth. This allows you to have a built-in reminder for this new challenge you hope to take on.

This spring season, challenge yourself to add a new habit to one you already have to make the most out of your season and work towards hitting your goals!

Rise Together for HER was all about community, intention, and creating space for growth. During Women’s History Month, Saltwater Mountain Co. “Dip Down To Rise Up” and Strong Girls United teamed up to build a stronger future for girls in our community. Together, we supported The Strong Girls United Hub, our local empowerment center for girls and women built for her, designed to ensure every girl has access to sport, mentorship, mental health skill building resources, and a supportive, empowering community.

To kick off the spring season at SGU, we decided to Dip Down to Rise Up. We came together, took the plunge, and used the moment as a mental reset. It was a chance to pause, reflect, and step into the new season with intention. You can check out our recap reel here.

Our dip represented more than just a moment, it reminded us that sometimes you have to step outside your comfort zone to grow. It showed us that a reset can be simple, powerful, and something you can carry with you into your everyday life.

You can use this too. Whether it is taking a moment for yourself, trying something new, or building a small habit into your routine, resets do not have to be big to be meaningful. This spring, we are carrying that energy forward, continuing to rise together and create spaces where every girl feels strong, supported, and seen.
